7. @kjorgeson
BORN TO CLIMB…Kevin began climbing as a toddler – trees, fences, cupboards, ladders, everything. At age 10, he discovered rock climbing when he attended the grand opening of his local climbing gym. By age 19, Kevin was the top ranked climber for his age in the country. He then turned his focus toward establishing the most beautiful and dangerous boulder problems in the world. In 2009, he began work on the Dawn Wall project with Tommy Caldwell. On January 14, 2015 – after 19 days on the wall and six years of work – Tommy and Kevin succeeded on what’s being called the world’s hardest climb.

8. @alexhonnold
A thirty-year-old climbing phenomenon, Alex Honnold pushes the limits of free soloing beyond anything previously attempted, as he climbs without a rope, without a partner, and without any gear to attach himself to the wall. If he falls, he dies. In Alone on the Wall, Honnold recounts the seven most astonishing achievements thus far in his meteoric career, including free-soloing Sendero Luminoso in Mexico and climbing the Fitz Traverse in Patagonia. Each chapter narrates the drama of one climb, along with reflective and introspective passages that get at what makes Honnold tick. Veteran climber and award-winning author David Roberts quotes the judgments of other climbers to help put Honnold’s tremendous accomplishments in perspective.

9. @chris_sharma
When Chris was 12 years old, his life changed forever the moment that he walked into the local climbing gym in Santa Cruz, California. He learned that through a supportive community of inspired friends (his extended family), he was able to accomplish things way beyond his imagination.
So right here, next to the Mediterranean Sea in his hometown of Barcelona, a small team and Chris are building a new climbing gym to share the wonderful experience of climbing with all.
The vision is to create a world class climbing and training space for all climbers, of all abilities, a special place for the local and international community to gather and create an environment of positive, collaborative energy.
